How did you find this blog?
I have a hundred and one blog posts running through my head at the moment (usually in the middle of night or early in the morning when I can't sleep).
So, I am going to make an effort to start writing them down.
They may not be cohesive, they may only be dot points, or they may just be pictures. But I will try!
I have been looking back at my statcounter over the past week and just looking at how people get to my blog.
It is very interesting.
For those who don't know what a statcounter is, it is basically just a thingy that logs all the IP addresses and information of people who visit my blog. I don't actually know everyone's IP addresses (well I don't know any of them really), but the thing I find most interesting is the words people type into search engines.
Did you know that most people are searching for ryley's blog, or blog about a bloke, or information on WHS?
Every now and then I get some random search for weird stuff. But usually people are looking for the exact information found in this blog.
Now I find that pretty cool.
Which leads me to wondering how many followers/readers of this blog do I really have? I know people don't often 'Google Follow' and I have no idea how to find out who is subscribed to this blog via RSS. I love that people follow me on Twitter or Facebook.
Anyway.
I will be making some changes soon (I did say that in one of my previous blog posts didn't I?) and am going to move this blog to my own domain again. Bit like when we used to have ryley.net.
I don't write this blog to be one of the 'popular' blogs. I write it for the exact reason people search for it. To educate others on WHS. To have a place for families to read about our life with WHS. And to have a record of our life to hopefully read one day to Ryley and for Braeden to read himself.
So to all the people that read my blog...THANKYOU! Thanks for taking the time in your day to read the words that I write.
I have got very little time to dedicate to the blog at the moment as I am working 4 days a week now and every bit of my spare time is being consumed by fundraising stuff or conference stuff.
But, I do have a few posts up my sleeve, so stay tuned!!

I love looking at my stats every morning. Very interesting. Of course I get all those people searching for stuff about the Bates Motel. LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember how I found your blog. It's been a pretty long time. I think it must have been linked through someone else's blogroll. Anyway, when you get those 101 thoughts in your head, start a new post for each with bullets, save it, and don't hit publish until you've had time to flesh it out. That's what I do, and I find it very helpful so I don't forget anything.
I found you because we are kindred spirits :) I hope other people found you through me.
ReplyDeleteLove reading your blog both for the information and the humanity...I have a link to here from my blog. Keep up the great work....
ReplyDeleteI love your blog Anna. Yours was one of the first I found after Dylan's diagnosis and I remember seeing a picture of Ryley in a tent smiling and said to myself "it's all going to be ok., look how adorable and happy he is." Thank you for sharing your blog and journey with me. :)
ReplyDeleteBecca-I think you made the suggestion a little while ago about writing down my thoughts even if I didn't publish. I am starting to do it now!!
ReplyDeleteKristen- I agree, kindred spirits we are xxx
Phil-Thanks so much! I love reading your blog too. You and Sharon inspire me to always think outside the box.
Kristy- I am so glad you found us and that it gave you some comfort. I love Dylan!! You have such a beautiful family oxx
I've been a long time reader of your blog, right from day dot I think. I may not comment very often but I do read. You've opened my eyes to so many different things through your blog Anna. You have such a way with words and I love both your passion and your humility. xx
ReplyDeleteOn the stats, I've never looked at mine before. I think I'll have to do that now just out of curiosity. Oh and I'll have to change your blog link on my page.
Love to you all xx
Thanks Kylee!! Statcounter (or you can use blogger stats) is really interesting. It tells you where people come from too. It is also really cool when you see people from around the world visiting. xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing and allowing me to be a part of your life. I love reading your posts and seeing pictures of your adorable boys.
ReplyDeleteI read so many of your posts when we first received Magnolia's diagnosis, long before I started blogging. It gave us hope and strength. Thank you for that!
