Braeden's baptism
On Sunday, Braeden was baptised into the Catholic Church. Given that he is 4 years old, he was pretty excited and he was hoping to meet God.
I couldn't deliver on the God part, but it was a really special ceremony and Braeden loved every part of it.
Why did we leave it until now?
Well, mostly because we just haven't had the time.
But, to be honest, the timing was actually really good, because we felt as though he actually understood what was happening.
Despite Braeden being quite nervous (oh gee where does he get that from?), he really enjoyed being the centre of attention for once.
We were extremely proud of him.
That's really special. Thanks for sharing it. Children's perceptions of these occasions are always so precious.
ReplyDeleteMarcelle.
It was a lovely experience for all of us xo
DeleteRitual is so very important in all of our lives, a connection to that fragile community out there...congratulations to Braeden!
ReplyDeleteI agree, ritual and tradition does still have a role to play in society, it is a shame more people don't see that.
DeleteIt WAS a special day and we were proud of him too! He took it all very seriously and really enjoyed the ceremony.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mum. It held a lot of meaning for him which was why it was so special I think.
DeleteCongrats Braeden! What an excited day. Toller just received his first communion and was very excited but extremely nervous as well.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Toller!! Braeden was very nervous the day before, but handled it way better than I thought he would on the day!
